Senior Community Manager

Modern Wolf is a publisher of forever games; games with endless scope for strategy, and endless reason to re-play. Founded in 2019 and based in London, UK, we are the publishers of Rogue State Revolution, Cantata and Out There: Oceans of Time, amongst other great titles. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Community Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will collaborate with our Social Media Manager, PR and Production teams in maintaining and evolving our community channels, and fostering active, engaged communities around our multiple titles. You will be a key link between the marketing and studio-development teams, ensuring the correct flow of information in both directions, with a critical eye for community sentiment, retention and growth. You will be the primary manager of our community platforms such as Discord and Steam, where you will grow and maintain a following with a positive atmosphere, and routing player feedback about our games back to our production team. This role is ideal for someone with multiple shipped games under their belt, and a good grip on managing communities of various sizes - from larger established communities, to smaller emerging ones. You also have experience managing your own reports/teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Become a key ambassador for MW games, and the conduit between the community and development team.
  • Engage with MW communities with a keen eye for growth, and ensure that community spaces reflect both game and company values.
  • Become the key-holder to Discord, Steam Discussion Boards and Reddit, amongst other applicable channels, and drive the channel strategies.
  • Devise and roll out community initiatives - often dovetailing with key marketing beats - that foster lively channels and create engagement.
  • Liaise with studio partners across publishing meetings to ensure sentiment, requests and feedback is relayed.
  • Work alongside our production team to manage pre-release playtests and create mechanisms to capture feedback.
  • Drive Early Access game campaigns for applicable titles, and help create an open development process that serves both players and developers.
  • Write and roll out patch notes, with a strong feel for good copy in line with Brand.
  • Dedicate time every week to play Modern Wolf’s games: nobody in the company knows the ins and outs of our titles better than you.

We would also like for you to learn and grow, utilizing our internal expertise but also by staying on top of current industry trends and practices. We provide every employee with a training budget that they can use to grow their skills: both directly work-related and otherwise!

Your essential characteristics:

  • You are passionate about strategy games, and know the indie games space inside out.
  • You are plugged into industry trends, with a good grip on the competitive landscape.
  • You have a native-level proficiency in English and you know good copywriting and why it works.
  • You have the ability to wield different tones of voice with respect to the different brands you’d be working across.
  • You have a keen interest in the wider disciplines of brand and digital marketing, and how Community fits into this.
  • You have a collaborative spirit with great communication skills, and are not afraid to ask questions or be critical.

Modern Wolf also offers unlimited holiday, Vitality health insurance, and a flexible, hybrid working policy; you are welcome to work from home, or from our office in Old Street, London.
